Thursday

We decided initially to visit Stenton House in Philadelphia first. We left home Thursday taking Rt-17 east to I-64 east. After crossing the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel we picked up Rt-13 north. We crossed the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel and continued on Rt-13 through the Virginia eastern shore, Maryland and Delaware. We then took Rt-202 north to King of Prussia PA to spend the night. The ride this day was nice until we got onto Rt-202. Rt-202 is a slow boring ride that purposely drags you through every small town strip mall - no bypass. I'll find a scenic way around Rt-202 if I'm ever up this way again. I hadn't planned to make the entire run to Philly in one day but my better half insisted. After unloading and cleaning up at the hotel we found a very nice restaurant called Creeds in King of Prussia where we had a fantastic surf and turf for dinner. Except for Rt-202, day one was an excellent day. A nice ride, then dinner topped off with some red wine after we got back to the hotel.
